Jammu and Kashmir launches online school staff transfer drive

The Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department has launched an online annual transfer drive for 2026. Eligible employees can submit applications through a designated portal between August 23 and September 8.

The initiative aims to ensure transparency, facilitate equitable staff deployment, and minimize disruptions to academic activities. The drive applies to various roles, including teachers, lecturers, principals, headmasters, and zonal education officers.

Under the new policy, staff members at institutions such as SCERT JK, DIETs, and the JK Board of School Education who have completed their prescribed tenures are required to participate. Additionally, employees in Zone-I and Zone-II who have served three years or more must participate, while those in other zones may seek transfers on an optional basis. The department stated that manual or offline applications will not be considered.
