Jammu and Kashmir National Conference urges Delhi protest to restore statehood and Article 370

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah asked the opposition INDIA bloc to join the National Conference’s planned protest in New Delhi on the first day of the Monsoon session of Parliament, demanding the restoration of the Union Territory’s statehood and constitutional guarantees lost after the 2019 reorganisation.

National Conference Lok Sabha member Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi also pledged to take part in a Jantar Mantar rally, insisting that the core demand remain the reinstatement of Article 370. He called for a continuous, organised movement to address broader grievances such as land rights, employment and reservation policies, warning that a single demonstration would be insufficient for lasting peace.
