Jammu and Kashmir officials review UT Foundation Day preparations

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, has chaired a meeting to review arrangements for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory Foundation Day and the Run for Unity, which will be held on October 31 at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in observance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas.

Various departments and institutions, including the University of Kashmir, SKUAST-K, the School Education Department, and the Youth Services and Sports department, have been assigned specific responsibilities to ensure the smooth conduct of the events. The mobilization plan for the Run for Unity was a key focus of the review.

To facilitate logistics, the Deputy Director of Planning will coordinate transportation, with Srinagar Smart City Limited and the Road Transport Corporation tasked with providing buses for participants. The Additional Deputy Commissioner of Srinagar and the Joint Commissioner of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation have been designated as nodal officers for overall coordination.
