Shopian Police arrest 10 in terror financing crackdown
Jammu and Kashmir Police have dismantled a terror financing module in the Shopian district, resulting in the arrest of ten alleged associates. The investigation focused on suspicious digital transactions and complex money trails traced through various online payment platforms.
Authorities allege the network was used to clandestinely collect funds from the public to support the activities of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and its proxy, The Resistance Front (TRF). These funds were reportedly used to provide logistical assistance to terrorists, including the procurement of smartphones.
The arrested individuals include residents from Shopian, Pulwama, and Kathua. Investigators have identified links between the suspects and terrorists currently lodged in various jails. A case has been registered at the Shopian Police Station, and officials stated that further investigations are underway to identify additional suspects and financial connections.
