Jammu and Kashmir reviews major infrastructure and logistics developments

Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo has reviewed the progress of major infrastructure projects in Jammu and Kashmir, where 44 works valued at approximately ₹39,711 crore are currently under execution. These projects, part of the Jammu and Kashmir Infrastructure and Connectivity Development Programme, involve highways, tunnels, flyovers, bridges, and ring roads. The broader portfolio includes 87 works with an estimated total value of ₹1,19,736 crore. Executing agencies include the Border Roads Organisation, National Highways Authority of India, and the Public Works (R&B) Department.

In Anantnag, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat met with stakeholders to discuss utilizing railway goods services for the transportation of horticulture produce. With approximately 3 lakh metric tonnes of fruit produced annually in the district, officials are seeking to coordinate between railway authorities, fruit associations, and transporters to improve logistical efficiency and ensure timely delivery to outside markets.
