Jammu and Kashmir statehood push calls for political unity, says Minister Satish Sharma

Cabinet Minister Satish Sharma urged all political parties to join forces in restoring statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking after a recent National Conference legislators' meeting in which the Congress party was absent, he said the demand for statehood requires “political unity” across the spectrum.

Sharma highlighted that the government’s priority has always been the reinstatement of statehood, noting that procedural delays have occurred due to rain and security conditions. He appealed to the Congress and other parties to support the effort, citing the region’s historic rulers and urging communities such as Dogras, Gujjars and others to stand together for the common goal.
