Jammu and Kashmir weather forecast predicts rain and snow

The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast light rainfall across several locations in Jammu and Kashmir on October 10 and October 13-14. Higher reaches of the region are expected to experience light snowfall during these periods.

On October 10, cloudy conditions are anticipated alongside the possibility of thunderstorms and gusty winds. While October 11 and 12 are expected to remain generally dry, another spell of weather involving light rain, light snow in higher elevations, thunderstorms, and gusty winds is predicted for October 13 and 14. Dry conditions are expected to prevail from October 16 to 18.

In light of the potential for thunderstorms and wind, authorities have advised farmers to proceed with harvesting and to ensure the safe storage of paddy and apples. Recent temperature readings in Kashmir have remained above normal, with Srinagar recording a maximum temperature of 28.2 degrees Celsius.
