Jammu film festivals draw 180 international entries and launch inaugural IFFJK 2026

The fifth edition of the Jammu Film Festival has received 180 film submissions from 35 countries, including 130 short films, 35 documentaries and 17 feature films. Submissions are open until July 31, with the festival scheduled for September 28‑29 in Jammu, where selected works from India and abroad will be showcased.

The Directorate of Information and Public Relations has also invited global filmmakers to submit entries for the inaugural International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir (IFFJK‑2026). The call for entries runs from July 1 to July 31, and the festival will take place from September 7‑10 at venues in Srinagar and Jammu. IFFJK will feature competition sections such as International Competition, Cinema of the World, J&K Select, Bharat Panorama, Documentary/Hybrid, Horror and Short Films, aiming to promote cultural exchange and position the region as a hub for cinema.

Both initiatives seek to highlight the region’s heritage, foster artistic collaboration and attract international attention to Jammu and Kashmir’s cinematic landscape.
