Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Umar Abdullah Meets Bihar Assembly Speaker and Himachal Education Minister in Srinagar

On June 26, Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Umar Abdullah hosted Bihar Assembly Speaker Dr. Prem Kumar and Himachal Pradesh School Education Minister Rohit Thakur at his residence in Srinagar. The three officials discussed ways to deepen cooperation between their states, strengthen democratic institutions, and improve legislative functioning.

During the meeting with the Himachal delegation, which included senior education officials, Umar Abdullah emphasized that "good education is the foundation of sustainable development" and called for greater sharing of educational practices between the hill states. The talks covered joint projects, exchange of ideas on school reforms, and broader inter‑state collaboration.

Both visits were framed as steps to foster mutual learning and coordinated development among Jammu & Kashmir, Bihar, and Himachal Pradesh.
