Jammu Kashmir NHM employees announce 72-hour strike
Employees of the National Health Mission (NHM) in Jammu and Kashmir have announced a 72-hour Union Territory-level strike scheduled to begin on September 9. The strike was decided during a virtual meeting of the UT-level Joint Coordination Committee of NHM Employees following a failure to reach a resolution regarding long-pending demands.
The committee stated that a final ultimatum issued to the government for action by September 5 went unaddressed. The strike will involve employees at the district, block, and field levels, including those associated with the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP). Organizers emphasized that the decision follows repeated unsuccessful attempts at discussion and appeals to the authorities.
