JAMRA supports Mame Makhtar Guèye’s family in Fatou Binetou case

The Islamic NGO JAMRA issued a public statement expressing “soutien indéfectible et sans réserve” (unwavering support) for its vice‑president Mame Makhtar Guèye and his daughter Fatou Binetou Guèye, who is facing criminal charges. The organization reiterated its mission, founded in 1983, to defend Islamic moral values and denounced what it called intimidation and pressure campaigns against Guèye. JAMRA clarified that the charges against Fatou Binetou Guèye do not cite “acts against nature,” “lesbianism” or “homosexuality,” citing information from the defendants’ lawyers. The NGO praised the police, gendarmerie and justice authorities for their work, called for the continuation of investigations, and urged militants and supporters to remain calm and avoid excessive reactions.
