Jamshedpur shooting leaves man wounded after high-level police meeting

A shooting occurred in the Phulbasti area of Old Baradwari, Jamshedpur, late Thursday night, shortly after a high-level crime meeting led by DGP Tadashi Mishra. Two assailants on a white scooter opened fire on Mohammad Raja, striking him twice in the arm.

The victim reported that the incident stemmed from a dispute earlier that evening near Devanagar Ashram involving individuals identified as Ismailu and Kodoo. Following the confrontation, the suspects allegedly targeted Raja while he was speaking on his mobile phone outside his home.

Police recovered two shell casings at the scene. The victim was transported to MGM Hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition. Authorities have launched raids in the Mango and Azadnagar areas to apprehend the suspects, noting that one of the primary accused, Ismailu, is a professional criminal with a prior record of extortion and assault.
