Jaén and Chiclane host community sports festivals in June

The Jaén City Council’s Sports Department unveiled a two‑week programme of sporting events running from 6 June to 21 June, featuring activities such as table‑tennis, judo, rhythmic gymnastics, basketball, tennis, taekwondo and hiking. The schedule, prepared by the Municipal Sports Board with local clubs, is intended to make sport accessible to all residents during the city’s Feria and the Virgen de la Capilla festivities.

In the province of Cádiz, the municipality of Chiclane, together with the Museum of Sport and the Spanish Sports Council, organised the exhibition “Mujeres Leyendas del Deporte” from 15 June to 27 June. The display, housed in the Pabellón Ciudad de Chiclane, showcases around 70 objects belonging to prominent Spanish and international female athletes, includes audio‑guide narrations by well‑known sports journalists, and is aimed at promoting gender equality and encouraging young people’s participation in sport.
