Jaén Annual Literature Contest for Novice Writers deadline is October 15

The Diputación de Jaén has announced that the deadline for the XXXVI Annual Literature Contest for Novice Writers is October 15. The competition features two categories: poetry and narrative.

Each category offers a prize of 2,000 euros and the publication of the winning work. The contest is open to adults who were born in or are registered residents of the province of Jaén and have a limited publication history. Specifically, those who have published more than one individual book with an ISBN are ineligible.

Submissions must be original, written in Spanish, and of any theme. Poetry entries should be between 500 and 700 verses, while narrative works should range from 75 to 150 pages. África Colomo, the deputy for Culture and Sports, stated that the initiative aims to discover new voices and support those beginning their literary careers.
