Jan Bednarek details violent home robbery in Portugal

Polish footballer Jan Bednarek has spoken out about a violent home robbery that occurred at his residence in Portugal in early May. The incident took place around 9:00 PM on a Friday when Bednarek, his wife Julia, and their daughter returned home unexpectedly from a restaurant, surprising four intruders who had been monitoring the property.

During the confrontation, one of the burglars threatened Bednarek with a knife. The player stated that while his initial instinct was to fight to ensure his family's safety, he chose to prioritize the well-being of his wife and daughter, who had hidden in the bathroom, over playing the hero.

The thieves escaped with jewelry valued at approximately 150,000 euros, including two watches, two wedding bands, and a bracelet. Despite initially considering moving or selling the house, the Bednarek family has decided to remain in their home, stating they do not want criminals to dictate how they live their lives.
