Jaén begins comprehensive sanitation renovation in historic center
The Jaén City Council has launched a comprehensive renovation of the sanitation network in Calle Hospitalico, located in the city's historic center. The project, managed by the concessionaire Aqualia, involves an investment of 237,000 euros.
Mayor Julio Millán stated that the works aim to resolve long-standing issues with ground subsidence and leakages that have affected local residents for decades. The intervention is based on a new diagnostic map developed through joint management between the council and Aqualia to prioritize urgent needs.
The project will subsequently extend to Calle Puerta de Martos and the paths leading to the Cruz de la Magdalena. Additionally, a separate 100,000 euro budget has been allocated for the restoration of the Cruz de la Magdalena surroundings. The initiative is intended to modernize the urban space, improving hydraulic infrastructure, lighting, and general conditions for residents and commercial activity.
