Jan Christian Vestre criticizes Labour Party healthcare rhetoric
Norwegian Health Minister Jan Christian Vestre has criticized his own party, the Labour Party (Arbeiderpartiet), for maintaining an overly negative rhetoric regarding private actors in the healthcare sector. Vestre stated that while the public sector must remain the backbone of the health service, cooperation with private entities is essential and that previous ideological stances have been incorrect.
He highlighted the government’s efforts to reduce waiting times as evidence that public-private collaboration can be effective. He emphasized that the party should focus on pragmatic results rather than ideological divides to solve societal challenges.
