Jan Leszczyński suffers serious knee injury at Borussia Mönchengladbach

Jan Leszczyński, the 19-year-old Polish defender for Borussia Mönchengladbach, has suffered a serious knee injury during a morning training session. The injury occurred following an unfortunate landing after an aerial duel.

While initial assessments by sporting director Rouven Schröder and coach Alexander Blessin suggested a minor bruise, subsequent medical examinations revealed a meniscus tear. According to reports from Bild, the severity of the injury could lead to a significant absence from the pitch. Depending on whether surgery and a full reconstruction of the meniscus are required, Leszczyński could be sidelined for anywhere between two months and over six months.

Leszczyński joined the Bundesliga club from Legia Warsaw this summer for three million euros and had recently secured a place in the starting lineup, appearing in three Bundesliga matches and one German Cup match.
