Jan Nawazi opens second restaurant in Modena

Jan Nawazi, who arrived in Italy in May 2007 after spending 50 hours hidden in a truck trailer from Greece, has opened his second restaurant, Kabulagna, in Modena.

Nawazi, who was 17 at the time of his arrival, recalled the difficult journey and the solidarity shown by police officers who provided food to the group after they were discovered. After building a professional career starting in Bologna as a pizzaiolo, he is now expanding his business. His new establishment aims to give back to the community that welcomed him and currently employs approximately ten migrants and refugees.
