Jan Novack wins 12th CVCEPHOTO photography competition

Czech photographer Jan Novack has won the top prize at the 12th edition of the CVCEPHOTO competition, organized by the Club Vasco de Camping Elkarte in Donostia. His winning image, titled ‘Tough Enough’, earned him the ‘Topo Grand Prize’, which includes 500 euros and a trophy by sculptor Iñigo Aristegui.

The competition introduced a new award structure this year, dividing the twenty recognized photographs into fifteen honorable mentions and five special prizes. Other winners include Chechu Arribas, who received the EMF prize, and Kevin Young, who won the EITB prize for the best photograph taken in the Basque Country.

The awards ceremony, held at the Donostia Aquarium, featured a lecture by nature photographer Alexandra Surkov regarding her ‘Future Guardians’ project. The event also included musical accompaniment by Maite Larburu to celebrate mountain photography and nature.
