Jan Oblak named world's highest-paid football goalkeeper

Jan Oblak, the Slovenian goalkeeper for Atletico Madrid, has become the highest-paid goalkeeper in world football. According to data from Livescore and Capology, Oblak earns approximately £342,127 per week, or roughly €400,000.

Oblak ascended to the top of the rankings following a wage reduction by Manuel Neuer of Bayern Munich. The 33-year-old currently has two years remaining on his contract with the Spanish club.

Following Oblak, Marc-Andre ter Stegen is ranked second with a reported weekly salary of £271,665. While Ter Stegen is currently on loan at Ajax, Barcelona reportedly subsidizes approximately 90 per cent of his wages. Gianluigi Donnarumma follows in third place, earning roughly £265,000 per week while playing for Manchester City.
