Tottenham defender Jan Paul van Hecke criticizes Getafe physicality

Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Paul van Hecke has criticized the aggressive physicality displayed by Getafe during a recent pre-season friendly. Following a match that ended in a draw, with goals from Alberto Risco and Conor Gallagher, Van Hecke stated that the intensity was unnecessary for a non-competitive fixture. He suggested that Getafe’s approach would likely have resulted in “two or three red cards” in a standard match.

Separately, Van Hecke has discussed his integration into the Tottenham squad under manager Roberto De Zerbi. The Dutch defender highlighted his existing friendship and playing partnership with teammate Micky van de Ven, noting that they previously played together for the Netherlands U21 side.
