Jaén promotes olive oil culture through technology and literature

The province of Jaén is leveraging digital tools and cultural initiatives to promote its olive oil heritage and tourism. Mobile technology and digital connectivity, including eSIM options, are increasingly used by visitors to navigate historical sites such as the Jaén Cathedral, the Santa Catalina Castle, and local Arab baths.

In Cazorla, La Almedina (also known as the Palacio del Marqués de Foronda) serves as both a museum and a modern olive oil mill. This 19th-century complex illustrates the transition from traditional milling to modern industry and produces Torreón de Nubla extra virgin olive oil under the Sierra de Cazorla designation.

Additionally, the IX International Short Story Prize on Olive Groves, Olive Oil, and Oleotourism has reached a record 478 entries from 26 countries. Organized by Ferias Jaén and the Másquecuentos Cultural Association, the competition features a public voting phase to select the most popular stories among the 443 entries that passed the initial screening.
