Jaén province offers subsidies for olive oil mills to develop tourism
The Diputación de Jaén has opened a call for subsidies totaling approximately 200,000 euros to help olive oil mills (almazaras) in the province adapt their facilities for tourism and promote their services. Applications are being accepted until November 15.
The funding is divided into two distinct lines. The first line, allocated 170,000 euros, supports investments in creating visitor reception areas, extra virgin olive oil sales spaces, tasting rooms, workshops, and gastronomic exhibitions. It also covers improvements to tourist signage, interpretive content regarding the oil extraction process, accessibility upgrades, and public restroom facilities. The maximum aid per project under this line is 20,000 euros.
The second line, with 20,000 euros available, focuses on promotional materials. This includes funding for promotional videos, brochures, educational booklets, and other information supports for tourist visits. The maximum aid for these initiatives is 4,000 euros. Applicants must submit projects detailing planned activities and their expected impact on local tourism and employment generation.
