Jan Suraaj Party plans expansion into Delhi politics

The Jan Suraaj Party (JSP), founded by Prashant Kishor, is preparing to expand its political operations from Bihar into Delhi. Following Kishor’s recent bypoll victory in Bankipur, supporters in the capital are organizing to establish a formal presence and a dedicated Delhi chapter.

A meeting is scheduled for Sunday in Delhi to felicitate Kishor and discuss the formation of a steering committee to oversee the party’s organizational structure in the capital. The party is also reportedly searching for office space in Delhi to support its operations.

The JSP has outlined a long-term electoral roadmap for the region, aiming to contest the 2027 Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections, followed by the 2029 Lok Sabha elections and the 2030 Delhi Assembly elections. While the party intends to reach out to various social and economic groups, its expansion is expected to leverage the significant population of voters from Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh residing in Delhi.
