Jan Suraaj Party manager Devpalik Gupta found dead in Jharkhand
Devpalik Gupta, the 31-year-old digital communications manager for Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party, was found dead near railway tracks in a forested area in Ranchi, Jharkhand. His body was discovered on Tuesday, approximately 24 hours after he went missing from the Ranchi-Patna Jan Shatabdi Express.
Gupta, an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), was traveling with two colleagues when he reportedly left his seat to visit the train's pantry car. When he failed to return, his colleagues searched the train and eventually lodged a complaint with the Government Railway Police (GRP) at Muri Junction.
Police have registered a case of unnatural death and deployed forensic teams to the site in Jarwadih. While preliminary findings suggest the death may have resulted from an accidental fall from the moving train, investigators are still working to determine the exact circumstances. The body has been sent to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) for a post-mortem examination.
