Jana Hádková, prominent Czech documentary filmmaker, dies at 74
Renowned Czech documentary filmmaker, dramaturg, and creative producer Jana Hádková has passed away at the age of 74. She was a prominent figure in Czech documentary production, notably serving as a dramaturg and producer for Czech Television.
Her death was announced by director Bedřich Ludvík, a longtime colleague who shared personal memories of their time teaching together at the Miroslav Ondříček Film Academy (FAMO) in Písek. Ludvík noted that Hádková had undergone a medical procedure shortly before her passing.
Hádková leaves behind three sons: actors Matěj and Kryštof Hádek, and Ondřej Hádek. Her professional legacy includes work on notable documentaries such as ‘Ústečák’, ‘Mág světla a barev Jaromír Šofr’, and ‘Děti bouře’. Colleagues and friends from the film industry have begun sharing tributes to her career and personality.
