Jana Plodková marks 45th birthday, shares career reflections and famed hair changes

Czech actress Jana Plodková turned 45 on 5 August. Born in Jičín in 1981, she studied drama at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts (JAMU) and began her professional career at Brno’s HaDivadlo before joining Prague’s Divadlo Na zábradlí in 2014, where she remained a full member until 2025 and now appears as a guest. Plodková prefers low‑key celebrations, spending her birthdays in nature rather than with elaborate parties.

Plodková is also known for her striking hair transformations. While her platinum‑blonde look has become iconic, she has sported curls, brown shades, a bob and even a dark bob for roles such as the series Náhradníci and the film Protektor.
