Janaína Paschoal questions electoral defeat in Brazil
Janaína Paschoal, a São Paulo city councilwoman and one of the authors of the impeachment request against former President Dilma Rousseff, has publicly questioned her failure to secure a seat in the Chamber of Deputies.
During a session at the São Paulo City Council, Paschoal asked voters for feedback to understand if her defeat was due to a lack of merit or a failure in communication. She noted that she received 46,700 votes, a decrease from the 48,893 votes she obtained in 2022.
Paschoal, representing the Progressistas (PP) party, currently holds the position of second substitute for the party. The Progressistas party recently formed a federation with União Brasil, known as União Progressista, which secured five seats in the upcoming legislature.
