Jane Ansah, Malawi Vice-President, Appointed to Global G100 Women Leaders Council

Malawi’s Vice‑President, Dr Jane Ansah, has been appointed to the Presidents Advisory Council of G100, a global network that brings together heads of state, ministers, jurists and business leaders to promote gender equality and women’s advancement. The council’s members include the prime minister of the Democratic Republic of Congo, former president of Ecuador, Slovakia’s first female prime minister, Ukrainian Nobel‑peace‑prize‑winning lawyer Oleksandra Matviichuk, and first ladies from Italy and Zimbabwe.

Ansah, a retired Justice of Appeal and the second woman to serve as Malawi’s vice‑president, brings more than four decades of legal and public‑service experience, having served as Attorney General, High Court judge, chair of the Malawi Electoral Commission and author on human‑rights law. Her appointment is described as a moment of quiet significance for Malawi and the wider African continent, offering the country a stronger voice in a network aimed at amplifying women’s participation in public and economic life worldwide.
