Jane Ansah reaffirms DPP loyalty during disability inclusion event

Malawian Vice President Dr. Jane Ansah has reaffirmed her lifelong commitment to the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), addressing growing speculation regarding the party’s future leadership succession. During a luncheon at her official residence in Lilongwe, Ansah stated that her decision to join the DPP was based on conviction and policy alignment rather than political convenience, declaring her intention to remain a member for life.

The remarks come amid intensifying internal debates within the DPP concerning succession, despite President Arthur Peter Mutharika’s stance that leadership transitions should not become a divisive issue before 2030.

In addition to her political statements, Ansah hosted the event through the Dr. Jane Ansah Foundation to promote social inclusion. The luncheon brought together persons with disabilities, including individuals with albinism and persons with short stature, to discuss social participation and combat discrimination. The initiative aimed to strengthen connections between marginalized communities and national development programs.
