Jane Asher declines to watch upcoming Beatles biopics

Jane Asher, the former fiancée of Paul McCartney, has stated she does not intend to watch Sam Mendes’ upcoming series of four Beatles biopics. The project, titled ‘The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event’, aims to tell the band’s history through the perspective of each individual member.

Asher, who dated McCartney from 1963 to 1968, will be portrayed by actress Lucy Boynton. In a recent interview with The Telegraph, Asher noted that while filmmakers approached her regarding the project, she maintained her long-standing policy of not discussing her past relationship with McCartney publicly. She explained her decision to avoid the films is partly to prevent being questioned about her opinions on the portrayal.

The relationship between Asher and McCartney was a significant period in the band's history, influencing several songs including ‘And I Love Her’ and ‘I’m Looking Through You’.
