Jane Eyre the Musical makes UK debut in London

The musical adaptation of Jane Eyre is making its United Kingdom debut at the Southwark Playhouse Elephant in London. Written by John Caird and Paul Gordon, the production transforms Charlotte Brontë’s classic novel into a theatrical exploration of gothic mystery and romance.

Co-directed by John Caird and Megan McGinnis, the production is produced by Adam Blanshay Productions in partnership with original Canadian producers David and Hannah Mirvish. The cast features Charlie Burn as Jane Eyre and Ashley Gilmour as Edward Rochester.

Performances began on August 28 and are scheduled to run through October 24, with the official opening night set for September 8. The musical originally premiered in Toronto in 1996 and later moved to Broadway in 2000, where it received five Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical.
