Jane Fonda criticizes tech billionaires and corporate mergers in Venice

During the Venice Film Festival, actress and activist Jane Fonda criticized the pursuit of extreme longevity by tech billionaires and oligarchs. While being honored at the DVF Awards, the 88-year-old stated that the obsession with life-extension strategies by the wealthy could negatively impact the general population.

Fonda also addressed several political and social concerns, including her opposition to the Paramount-Warner Bros. merger and her criticisms of Donald Trump. Regarding technology, she warned that the expansion of artificial intelligence data centers in residential areas could damage the environment and threaten jobs, potentially leading to increased social discontent in the United States.

On a professional note, Fonda expressed her desire to return to acting after a five-year hiatus. She noted that the film ‘The Correspondent’ is in the final stages of pre-production, with filming potentially beginning in January.
