Jane Goodall Festival to be held in Hungary

The Jane Goodall Institute Hungary has announced the inaugural Jane Goodall Festival, scheduled to take place on October 3, 2026. The event serves as a tribute to the life and work of the renowned ethologist and conservationist Dr. Jane Goodall, following her passing in October 2025.

Rather than a traditional scientific conference, the festival is designed as an experience-based program focusing on the intersection of nature conservation, mental and physical well-being, sustainability, education, and culture. The program will feature discussions on ecotourism, nature photography, and the link between planetary health and human well-being, with contributions from various scientists, educators, and wellness professionals.

Additionally, the Jane Goodall Institute highlights the impact of the Roots & Shoots global environmental education program, which maintains over 100 active groups in Hungary. The initiative emphasizes that environmental consciousness can be driven by practical necessity, such as reducing waste and consumption to save resources, rather than solely through expensive green products.
