Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang rejects NDC flagbearer speculation

Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has dismissed speculation regarding her potential candidacy for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) 2028 presidential flagbearer position. During an interview on The KSM Show, she characterized early succession debates as a distraction from the government's primary mandate to address national economic challenges.

Opoku-Agyemang emphasized that the party was elected to deliver on its promises and that engaging in premature political maneuvering would be a "betrayal of the cause of the people." She stated that the administration's future electoral prospects depend on the success of the current leadership and the level of support provided to President John Dramani Mahama. She urged party members to focus on national development and fulfilling the expectations of the Ghanaian electorate rather than internal leadership contests.
