Janel Grant lawsuit moves to private arbitration with Vince McMahon

The federal lawsuit filed by Janel Grant against Vince McMahon, which included allegations of sex trafficking, sexual assault, and years of abuse, has moved into private arbitration. The 2026 agreement between Grant, McMahon, and WWE removes the matter from open court, preventing a public trial or a final judicial determination of the claims.

The legal dispute began following Grant’s 2019 employment at WWE, where she alleged McMahon used his position to create a coercive environment. The case also involved former WWE executive John Laurinaitis and referenced Brock Lesnar regarding claims of explicit material.

Several legal resolutions occurred during the process, including a $3 million settlement between Grant and McMahon in 2022, a confidential deal involving Laurinaitis, and an SEC resolution involving McMahon. While the public litigation has concluded through arbitration, Grant has continued to speak publicly about her experiences and the impact of nondisclosure agreements.
