Jang Hang-jun causes casting chaos in fictional film script reading
In the mockumentary variety show ‘Acting Holy Land’, a scripted script reading for director Jang Hang-jun’s fictional upcoming film, ‘International Lawyer’, resulted in chaotic casting changes.
During the reading, director Jang expressed dissatisfaction with the initial performances, leading to several role swaps. Actor Kim Eui-sung jokingly threatened to withdraw and demand a refund of 12 million won after his role as a benevolent chairman was reassigned to Hong Ki-jun.
Further casting shifts occurred when actor Lee Jun-hyuk, who had supposedly invested 50 million won to secure the lead role, was replaced by Kwon Yul. Following Kwon Yul’s reading, Jang Hang-jun praised the performance, stating it felt as though the protagonist he envisioned had come to life. Consequently, Lee Jun-hyuk was relegated to a minor role as an environmental activist who dies early in the film.
