Jangpetkong road construction project begins in Nagaland

The first phase of the Jangpetkong Road Construction Project has officially launched at Orija Salang, Changki. Phase I involves a 20-kilometre stretch from Changki X Junction to Dibuia and Luyong, constructed as a 3.75-metre-wide standard single-lane road under the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) mode.

The project, which has a total cost of Rs. 39.71 crore, aims to address decades of poor connectivity in the region. Temjenmenba, MLA and Advisor for Transport and Technical Education, described the initiative as a historic milestone, noting that the area has lacked a proper blacktopped road since Nagaland attained statehood.

The full project is expected to cover approximately 62 kilometres from Changki X Junction to Luyong and will be implemented in three phases. Phase II is currently under process.
