Janice Tjen and Storm Hunter win Japan Open 2026 doubles title
Indonesian tennis player Janice Tjen and Australian partner Storm Hunter secured the women's doubles title at the 2026 Japan Open in Osaka. The top-seeded duo defeated the Czech pair Jesika Malečková and Miriam Škoch in the final with a straight-sets score of 6-4, 6-1.
The victory lasted one hour and seven minutes. During the match, Tjen and Hunter maintained strong control, preventing their opponents from earning any break points and winning 32 out of 43 service points.
This win marks a significant milestone for Hunter, who had previously reached the Japan Open finals in 2017 and 2025 without success. It is her 11th career tour-level title and her second of 2026. To reach the final, the pair overcame Ingrid Martins/Sara Sorribes Tormo in the first round, Ya-Hsin Lee/Fang-Hsien Wu in the quarterfinals, and Isabelle Haverlag/Lilli Tagger in a tight semifinal match.
