Janina Hettich-Walz sweeps gold at German Biathlon Championships

Janina Hettich-Walz dominated the 2026 German Biathlon Championships at Notschrei, securing a triple gold medal sweep. The 30-year-old athlete won the individual race on Friday, the sprint on Saturday, and the pursuit on Sunday.

In the final pursuit race, Hettich-Walz maintained a significant lead despite two shooting errors in the standing stage, finishing 25.9 seconds ahead of Johanna Puff, who took the silver. Julia Tannheimer completed the women's podium with bronze.

On the men's side, Philipp Horn asserted his dominance by winning his second title in the pursuit race. The championships concluded with intense competition across all disciplines, highlighting Hettich-Walz's exceptional form in her home region.
