Janja Garnbret wins 51st World Cup climbing title in Koper

Slovenian climber Janja Garnbret secured her fourth consecutive victory in Koper, marking her 51st career World Cup win in lead climbing. This victory follows a 75-day competitive break and reinforces her status as one of the most successful climbers in history. Garnbret achieved a height of 42+ in the final, significantly outpacing her competitors.

American Brooke Raboutou took second place with a height of 33, while South Korea’s Chaehyun Seo finished third with 32+. This win also sets a new record for Garnbret, with 33 gold medals in the lead discipline.

Garnbret expressed satisfaction with her performance and the energy provided by the home crowd at the Bonifika sports park. Her coach, Roman Krajnik, noted that while this season featured fewer competitions and more training, the upcoming cycle will be more intense as they begin preparations for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
