Janko Odović not deployed to Montenegro's EU Mission in Brussels
Former Minister of Spatial Planning, Urbanism, and State Property, Janko Odović, has not been deployed to the Montenegro Mission to the European Union in Brussels. Although the government unofficially announced in September 2024 that Odović would serve as a special advisor to the mission, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MVP) confirmed that he has never performed duties in that capacity.
Odović has been employed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on a fixed-term basis since October 6, 2025. The Ministry did not specify his current exact duties but noted that the deployment of officials to diplomatic-consular representations follows legal procedures based on the workload of specific missions.
Odović previously held a ministerial position until July 2024, when he was removed during a cabinet reconstruction under Prime Minister Milojko Spajić. His tenure was marked by controversy, including police questioning in March 2025 regarding investigations into construction permits in Budva and Bar.
