Jannik Sinner focuses on injury recovery following US Open absence
World number one Jannik Sinner is currently undergoing injury recovery in Turin, which has forced him to miss the US Open. The Italian tennis star shared on social media that missing the tournament is “hard” and that he misses the atmosphere and fans in New York, but he is focused on working to return stronger.
Sinner has been managing a knee injury since his victory at Wimbledon in July. His rehabilitation program includes gym sessions, pool work, and sand training. While his exact medical status remains private, his team is aiming for a return to competition in late September.
A potential return could take place at the ATP 500 event in Beijing, where he is the defending champion, or at the Shanghai Masters. Tournament officials in China have expressed optimism regarding his potential participation, pending medical clearance.
