Jannik Sinner undergoes knee medical tests in Torino
World number one Jannik Sinner has returned to the J Medical facility in Torino for further testing on a right knee injury. The injury forced the Italian tennis star to withdraw from the US Open, a decision he described as being ‘sad and disappointed.’
While the official reason for his absence is physical recovery, some social media speculation has suggested a potential undisclosed suspension. However, American coach Rick Macci has categorically dismissed these claims, stating that the knee injury is real and that Sinner is making a long-term decision to avoid further aggravation.
Medical reports suggest the issue may be an inflammation rather than a structural lesion. Sinner is currently following a recovery program with the goal of returning for the Asian swing in late September, specifically targeting the China Open in Beijing and the Shanghai Masters.
