Jannik Sinner readies Wimbledon; Italy fields eight in ATP top 100

World No. 1 Jannik Sinner has completed his 76th consecutive week at the top of the ATP rankings, holding 13,500 points. After withdrawing from Roland Garros, he is training on grass in Monte‑Carlo and will travel to London on 18 June for a ten‑day preparation period ahead of Wimbledon 2026. He will not enter any official grass tournaments before the Slam, opting instead for the exhibition Giorgio Armani Tennis Classic at the Hurlingham Club.

Italy now has eight players inside the ATP top 100. Alongside Sinner, the list includes Flavio Cobolli (rank 10, debuting in the top‑10), Lorenzo Musetti (15), Luciano Darderi (17), Matteo Arnaldi (34), Matteo Berrettini (49), Lorenzo Sonego (65) and Mattia Bellucci (74), who rose four places after reaching the Stuttgart quarter‑finals. New personal bests were set by Federico Cină (181) and Filippo Romano (298). On the WTA side, Jasmine Paolini remains Italy’s highest‑ranked woman at No. 14.

Sinner’s goal is to defend his Wimbledon title, leveraging the intensive grass‑specific work and the exhibition match to fine‑tune his serve and movement on the faster surface.
