Jannik Sinner undergoes medical exams in Milan before Wimbledon

World No. 1 Jannik Sinner suffered a health episode during his second‑round match at Roland Garros, where he was forced to retire after symptoms of fatigue, nausea and cramping. The incident led to his elimination and prompted a series of medical examinations at the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan on 8–9 June 2026.

The checks, overseen by Dr Alberto Zangrillo, included routine blood work, cardiac assessments and more detailed specialist investigations across several departments. The aim is a comprehensive “check‑up” to determine the cause of the energy crisis and dizziness that have affected the Italian player in recent tournaments.

After completing the day‑hospital programme, Sinner returned to Monte Carlo to resume training and is preparing to defend his Wimbledon title, which starts in late June. He will not compete in any grass‑court events before Wimbledon.
