Jannik Sinner undergoes rehabilitation following early season end

Tennis world number one Jannik Sinner is focusing on recovery after being forced to end his 2026 season prematurely due to right knee issues, specifically inflammation of the iliotibial band. Reports indicate the Italian player may transition his medical care from J Medical to a new specialist, potentially working with Dr. Alberto Zangrillo.

Sinner’s rehabilitation is expected to take place in Monte Carlo, with a gradual return to training planned for December. His primary objective is to be fully prepared for the 2027 Australian Open.

His absence has sparked debate among tennis experts. While coach Patrick Mouratoglou has praised Sinner as the most dominant player on grass over the last three years, former champion Boris Becker expressed skepticism regarding such high praise, noting that many experts might disagree with the assessment.
