Tunisia and India target $1 billion in bilateral trade by 2030

Tunisia and India are working to significantly expand their economic ties, with a target to increase bilateral trade to $1 billion by 2030. Current trade levels are estimated at approximately $500 million to $521 million.

Following the India-Tunisia Joint Business Forum held in August 2026, officials and business leaders proposed several mechanisms to sustain momentum. These include the creation of a bilateral business chamber and the establishment of a recurring economic forum to be held every six months, alternating between Tunisia and India.

Key sectors identified for cooperation include pharmaceuticals, digital services, agribusiness, mechanical and electronic industries, and automotive components. Discussions also highlighted Tunisia's strategic position as a gateway to Africa and Europe for Indian investors, as well as the potential for partnerships in packaging and the marketing of Tunisian products like olive oil and dates.
