Nagoya carjacking: Driver assaulted and vehicle stolen

A carjacking and robbery occurred in Nagoya's Minami Ward on the night of August 15. A male resident of Nakagawa Ward was parked on a street in Shichijo-cho when a man approached his vehicle and asked to be driven to a station.

When the driver refused, the assailant grabbed him by the collar, dragged him from the vehicle, and assaulted him by punching him in the face. The suspect then fled the scene in the victim's white Toyota Prius.

Police have described the suspect as a man in his 30s, approximately 175 cm tall, with a medium build and a foreign appearance. Authorities are currently searching for the suspect and the stolen vehicle.
